Ms. Gainer is the Founder/Principal of The Opulence Group, a boutique public relations firm that specializes in experiential marketing, project management, media relations, and strategic event production. Her impressive list of personal and professional contacts has been deemed by her network as her super-power. Melinda holds a BA in English and a MA in Counseling, both from the historic Hampton University in Virginia. Melinda has over 20 years professional experience in her field, from corporate event planning with the Sears Corporation to handling recruitment, PR, and relationship engagement in the higher education sector. Melinda has proven leadership skills that have helped guide DGF in its first year. Her passion for the foundation’s goals originates with her love of music and the performing arts. Although not a professional musician herself, Melinda sings soprano in her Episcopal Church choir and enjoys playing the piano.
